Lindy Hop in Aarhus Festuge w. 1/2 hour intro
Aarhus Lindy Hoppers gives an introduction to lindy hop from 18-18.30 in Danseteltet in Musikhusparken, followed by open for all social dance.
18.30 – 20.00 We will play swing dance tunes and have a lovely social dancing with everyone.
If you haven’t heard of Lindy Hop before, it is an energetic swing dance which was born in the African-American communities in Harlem, New York City, in 1928 and has evolved greatly since then.
It was a fusion of many dances that were prevalent at the time but is mainly based on jazz, tap, breakaway and Charleston.
There is both partnered and solo dancing – this introduction will be to partnered dancing, but it is not necessary to bring a partner. We will rotate during the introduction.
