Do you want to learn how to move your feet to the rhythm of swing music? Then try a collegiate shag – it´s funny, it´s goofy and we are sure you´ll love it!
The Collegiate Shag is a partner dance done primarily to up-tempo swing and pre-swing jazz music (185-250+ beats per minute). It belongs to the swing family of American vernacular dances that arose in the 1920s and 30s.
We will start the evening with 45 minutes introduction class followed by the social dance, so you can hit the dancefloor and practice your new moves!
You do not need previous experience and can come alone or with friends as we will rotate partners during the introduction.

We will primarily play shag-friendly up-tempo swing and pre-swing music, which is also suitable for a lindy hop dance, so don’t hesitate to come.
Remember to bring your water bottle, dancing shoes, a towel, and an extra t-shirt.

Huset Trøjborg is locked in the evening due to security reasons, so all the different communities can feel safe using the space after working hours. We will have volunteers coming down and opening the doors.
Help each other and let fellow dancers inside the house.
