Collegiate Shag in Aarhus Festuge | FREE Introduction Class

Aarhus Lindy Hoppers give an introduction to Collegiate Shag followed by 1 hour and 15 minutes of social dancing! The teaching takes place in English.

The Collegiate Shag (or “Shag”) is a partner dance performed primarily to up-tempo swing and pre-swing jazz music (185-250+ beats per minute). It belongs to the swing family of American folk dances that originated in the 1920s and 30s. Because the basic step takes up so little space, the Shag can also be danced to fast music (over 300 beats per minute).

Remember that this is a very energetic dance.

This introduction will be for partnered dancing, but bringing a partner is not necessary.

The minimum age limit is 15 years
